According to the tribute, the fallen soldier’s wife is also serving in the army. They have a son together, Jack Daniel, who is still young. “May God’s comfort be upon his wife, Cpl Norilyn Bimmano Garcia, also of the First Scout Ranger Regiment, and their only child Jack Daniel.”

Before passing away valiantly, Cpl Diaz left a heartbreaking message to his loved ones. In his letter, he addressed his beloved mother and told her to take care of herself.

“Sabihin niyo kay mama mag-ingat siya, mahal ko kayo. Yung mga sasakyan at motor kayo na bahala. Hindi pa ako mamamatay,” he wrote. The writing was almost illegible, and from the way he wrote the words, it was obvious that the brave soldier was struggling to pen his last words to his family.

Yet even though he’s already weak, he mustered enough strength to write a farewell message to his loved ones before passing away. Shortly after writing the heartbreaking message, CPL Dennis Diaz passed away. His family shared his inspirational story on social media.

Matandang Babae na Naglalaba sa Tapat ng Kanyang Bahay, Pilit na Hinuli Dahil Walang Suot na Face Mask

As the coronavirus cases continue to climb in the Philippines, the government is still working hard to implement safety measures in public. Among the strict protocols is wearing face mask and face shield outside of your home. When this protocol is violated, law enforcement authorities can apprehend people and penalized them. Recently, a poor woman was victimized by this unjust system.

In a video circulating on Facebook, several LGU officials can be seen reprimanding an elderly woman for not wearing face mask. The officials were patrolling when they spotted the woman washing clothes just right outside her house. The elderly woman was not wearing a face mask during that time.

They forced her to go with them in the barangay hall, citing that she violated the protocols by not wearing a face mask. However, the woman can be heard on the video pleading to the officers. She reasoned out that she was not mingling with other people, and she was just a few meters away from her house while doing her laundry.

On the other hand, many netizens couldn’t help but feel disappointed at how the law enforcement authorities handled this situation. Some people compared the situation to the violations of other high-ranking officials, such as Debold Sinas.

Check out the video here, and here are some of the netizens’ comments:

“Naglalaba sa loob ng sariling bakuran titiketan dahil hindi naka face mask? Sa loob ng sariling bakuran yan ah, ilang hakbang lang mula sa pinto pero yung mga nasa posisyon tulad nila Siñas mapopromote pa.”

“This is an example of poor execution of our laws. Please don’t advocate for more jail time, the simple policy of wearing face masks in public areas is being required even on areas where people do their laundry? It’s. Not. Right.”

Jim Paredes, May Maanghang na Mensahe sa Pag-Alis ni Ted Failon sa ABS-CBN

While its franchise renewal is still hanging on air, ABS-CBN is letting go some of its most-valued celebrities and news anchors. Among those who will be leaving the Kapamilya network is Ted Failon, who has been an iconic news anchor in ABS-CBN for years. After 30 years of serving in his home network, the time has come for Failon to seek opportunities in other networks.

To pay tribute to this great commentator, Karen Davila expressed her admiration for Failon on social media. On Twitter, Davila dedicated a heartfelt message for Failon, who has also been her colleague in “TV Patrol” for six years.

“Nakasama ko si Si Ted Failon ng 6 na taon sa TVPatrol noong 2004-2010. Icon sa industriya. Isa sa pinakamagaling at pinakamalalim magkomentaryo sa radyo. Saan ka man mapunta Ted, I am praying for your success. God be with you,” wrote Davila on Twitter.

However, it seems like not all people agree with Davila’s sentiments when it comes to the legacy of Ted Failon. Among those who begged to differ is Jim Paredes, a former member of APO Hiking Society who replied with: “He was a spreader of fake news. Sorry Karen, I disagree.”

While Davila did not respond to Paredes’ tweet, some netizens urged the musician to provide proof of his claims, to which he responded with:

“He sided with Persida on the issue of dengvaxia. He did not speak out against the manufactured data on deaths her office was touting even when top doctors and experts were contradicting her. Because of that, he eroded the trust in vaccines and help spread polio, chicken pox, etc.”
