In the Philippines, thousands of cases of teenage pregnancy happen every year. Teenage mothers earned a bad rap and some people even look down on them for being ‘promiscuous.’ However, many women are slowly changing this and proving that they are also capable of great things. Among them is teenage mom Zianne Tremedal, whose inspirational story went viral on social media.

In a now-viral Facebook post, the 21-year-old mom shared her struggles in being a teenage mother. According to Zianne, she’s the eldest of their three siblings. That being said, she also served as the breadwinner of the family, which is why it was important for her to finish her education.

However, her plans were halted when she got pregnant at the age of 18. During that time, she was on her 3rd year in college studying medical technology at the Southwestern University in Cebu City. Instead of being scared, Zianne felt relief after hearing her baby’s heartbeat for the first time.

“Naiyak ako. Hindi ko alam kung tears of joy or sadness. Pero ang sarap sa pakiramdam ‘pag narinig mo ang first heartbeat ng baby mo,” Zianne wrote on Facebook. At that moment, she experienced the joys of motherhood, even though she haven’t met or even saw her baby yet.

During that time, Zianne made the difficult decision to continue her studies. Fortunately, her family and friends were very supportive in her decision. After she gave birth, her parents also took care of her son so she can continue finishing her degree. According to Zianne, her son motivates her to work harder in life.

“Gusto kong magtapos on time kasi yung ang gusto ng parents ko. Gusto ko ring maibalik sa kanila ang lahat ng binigay nila sa akin at sa anak ko. Masakit, nakakahiya, pero wala na akong pakialam kasi hindi naman sila yung makikinabang sa mga ginagawa ko. Ako at ang baby ko naman ang makaka-benefit sa pag-aaral ko,” says Zianne.

Earlier this week, netizens were moved with the story of this elderly man in a fast food inPampanga. His heartbreaking story spread like wildfire on social media.

“Si Tatay pumasok then umorder. After nun naupo sya malapit sa table ko. Pagdating nung order nya. 1 cup of rice and water lng. Kinakain nya rice lang. Nilapitan ko si Tatay tinanong ko kung gusto pa nya ng makakain. Oo daw kasi nagugutom sya pero kulang pera nya.”

Apparently, even the fast food crew noticed the man’s situation. When Calixtro went back to his table to give him food, he was surprised to see that the crew had already given the man chicken fillet for free.

After talking with the man, Calixtro found out that he was originally from Tacloban who has reached Pampanga while looking for a job.

“Kinausap ko siya sandali pero hindi ko siya maintindihan, masyado kasi sobrang nanginginig siya. Siguro sa sobrang gutom. PLus hirap na din siya magsalita. Taga Tacloban daw siya, napunta lang siya sa Pampanga para humanap ng work. Sa kasamaang palad inabutan siguro ng lockdown,” says Calixtro on his Facebook page.

On the other hand, the man’s heartbreaking story immediately caught the attention of the netizens. Many were also trying to reach out to him to offer help and financial assistance. Hopefully, through the help of kindhearted netizens, he can make it back to his family in Tacloban.
