Pinay sa San Francisco, Ipinasilip ang Mala-Ghost Town na Lugar Nila Dahil sa Lockdown

Coronavirus is slowly gripping the United States, with almost 20,000 people infected. In order to prevent further contamination, the government has mandated a stay-at-home order in some states, including California. As of March 21, positive coronavirus cases in different parts of the southern state has already reached more than 1,200.

To prevent further spread of the dreaded virus, California issued a stay-at-home order on Thursday. Under this order, people are advised to stay at home to prevent spreading the disease. Only establishments like grocery stores, financial institutions, pharmacies, hardware stores, and gas stations are allowed to operate.

This means that the once-bustling streets of California are now almost deserted. According to reports, the streets and sidewalks of most cities were deserted. People are strictly following the order for fear of catching the virus themselves.

Earlier this week, a Pinay living in San Francisco, California, revealed that their entire neighborhood is eerily deserted until April 7. Joy Manuel is a Pinay casino dealer who is living in South San Francisco with her family.  Because of the state-wide lockdown, their neighborhood looked like a ghost town.

According to Joy, only a few people were allowed to go out on the condition that they will only buy necessities outside. However, due to panic buying, almost all of the stores are running out of supplies. According to Joy, they can't even buy a single roll of toilet paper.

On the other hand, many netizens are expressing their prayers and support to all of the Pinoys all over the world. As you may well remember, Luzon has already been under an enhanced community quarantine lasting until April 15.
